My truck will not start. I have changed the fuel pump and it still won't start. It has spark and turns over but will not start. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be

What year? Depending on the year, replacing the Ignition Control Module (ICM) frequently solves this problem. The microchip inside fails, due to heat, and it does not fire when the ECM wants it to.

It is a 1996 GMC Sierra 1500 has 277,000 miles, I was driving and lost power and then it would not start does turn over though

What size engine? V-8?
Sounds like classic ICM failure. At AutoZone, they cost $72 and it will take you 3 minutes to install it yourself.

Go to AutoZone.com and look at what DR178 looks like. This will help you locate it on your engine. It is normally located right around the coil. From afar, that's my best guess.

OK I will try that someone else said something about a spider might need to be replaced but this sounds cheaper so I'll go with it first thank you
