Were there ever white slaves? If so, who were they enslaved to and why?

In the US, many came over as "indentured servants" where they were sold into service for the debts of coming to the US.

And of course there is an entire "slavely" in the sex trade and house servants of young people and illegals in the US and many countries

Yes we are slaves to this world.

Nearly every American ethnnic group suffered indentured servitude to some extent or another upon coming to the United States as they often had to work off their debt for passage to the US, typically in deplorable conditions and usually an unfair amount of work required.

Of course, Jews have been enslaved throughout history, most recently in the Holocaust when they suffered false imprisonment and forced labor among other atrocities.

White slavery is currently a major problem throughout the world, particularly in former Eastern European nations where women are promised passage to America or other destinations, where they expect to be given opportunities such as to marry or work, but are instead diverted elsewhere and forced into the sex trade.

I would argue that most prostitutes working for pimps are slaves. They are beaten into compliance, cannot quit without being in peril for their lives, and the pimp gets the money and typically provides as little as possible to the women.

Gangs also enslave women - promising a feeling of belonging, they force women into gang-rape situations, force them to run drugs or commit violent crimes, and sometimes also into prostitution.

Cults also enslave white and other races of people. For example, offshoots of Mormonism who still practice polygamy often force minor children into marriage. They manage all the money, and can readily kick men out of their families, homes and jobs. Like slave owners they control what individuals may have whether wives, housing, food, work opportunities, access to their children, acceptance in the community and virtually everything else dependent on that "church member's" compliance with demands.

Unfortunately slavery for all races is alive and well.
