Hi,
I am a UK resident and I have a property that is in my mothers name and my own name.
We own the house outright and have no Mortgage on it at all.
I have a few problems with my mother, and we are not getting along.
She asked me for My Passport, A Recent Bank Statement and A Utility bill.
I said I did not trust her and that I would go with her to the solicitor and give him the details myself.
What I want to know is, are those forms of ID really required just to take my name off the deeds?
Can my drivers license be used instead as it has Photo and Address information.
What is actually involved in taking your name off a property?
I have another house that we have on rent that is under her name, which I paid a lot of money towards the mortgage and fixing up the place.
If my mother did try something, could I claim anything back from that other house?
I hope someone can help. I am really stressed over this.
