Hello. It would be impossible to give a value without a picture. Send picture and details - size and condition, to: >Removed<

marianmiller,
Do you still have the Tyree? Can you send me a picture of it?

A Tyree can fetch between $200-1000. I have seen people ask up to $5,000 or more, but they never sell at that price. They have dropped like everything else in this economy, so its in lower range these days. Please contact me if you want to sell.

It looks like one in a series Tyree did in the pacific in the early 70's . My dad had three at one time. Two pictures, one a woman similar to Ms. Miller's, and one of a young girl, he bought for $300 and $350 respectively. The third, I still have, was a weathered old man in a straw hat, originally purchased for $500. There was a small article on Burke Tyree from a local Hawaiian newspaper on the back which stated that he was from Turlock, Calif, and had several "one color" series on velvet that were in three different museums around the world, and a couple in private collections. Can't find where I put it for safety right now. Looks like the original frame was replaced. His works orinally were in black woods native to the islands, and roughly hewn. Would be curious to know current value also. I believe he quit painting in the late 70's. Hope this helps.
