I have my bank account garnished from a judgement against me in 2003. I filed an exemption based on the fact that I am currently unemployment and in school. A court date is scheduled in June. However, I am worried since I don't know what to take to court. A few attorneys have advised me to go for bankruptcy which I don't want. I tried to explain my situation to the creditor but they want to have my account first before talking to me. Any advice?

Please ask each question once.

You take evidence which shows your financial position - Unemployment award letter, bank statements, a record of college expenses.

Not the least bit unusual for the creditor to want proof before making an arrangement - people lie.
