Hello to whoever reads my post. Me and my girlfriend have a 6 month old baby girl, we are unmarried. She has 2 other daughters, her oldest was placed up for adoption but she has full contact with the family. The other she let her "so-called" friend in MA have guardianship of her (not full just temp) after my GF's husband at the time committed suicide because it really messed her up so she entrusted this woman with her 2 year old daughter. Well when we had our daughter I was then commuting an hour to work each way everyday and we decided to move closer to work and my family. This woman who was taking care of the second oldest offered to care for our baby as well until we moved and got settled as its expensive when you have a newborn and trying to move in the process. My GF gave her limited power of attorney until early December. The area we moved to is a little difficult finding places to rent no kidding they don't stay available long but we called the woman to let her know a date we are coming to get our baby and she says no I'm not giving her back and you need to get a lawyer. She went to court without us knowing to try to gain full custody of both girls a few days ago and they were placed in foster homes to "protect our parent rights" we were informed we have a hearing December 19th which gave us less then 2 weeks to save for a lawyer and to plan a trip from NC to MA. Any advice will be greatly accepted.

WOW, Umm I don't have any professional advice, but I really hope everything works out. I would think the woman has no right to your children... but it sounds like she is going to make problems for you... Hopefully someone here will be better able to answer your question! I see this is your first post, but don't lose hope... a lot of good advice comes through here.

Best of luck and wishes!
