This is a real puzzler. I have a Mark 89 culligan softener and have been getting air blasts ONLY from the outside hose spigot that does not go through the softener. When I use the bypass valve on the softener, I get the air problem throughout the house so it would seem that the softener is siomehow removing the air from the system.
I had the Well repair guys replace the check valve (though it was not leaking) and there is no other way that they could see the air entering the system but it still is happening. My question is: "How is the softener removing the air and/or could it be the cause of air in the system? I do not have the float assembly anymore that stops the brine draw when the tank is empty but mine is never empty and only runs every three days.
Even if I had air in the conditioner tank , I would expect that air would always going into the house but it never does unless I BYPASS the conditioner. The well guys and I are stumped by this one and thought one of you might be able to help.
Thanks
