My narcissistic husband (whom I am TRYING to divorce! ) - threatens me constantly. Today's threat was that he's taking me off his car insurance policy and taking my license plates off and returning them to MV. (We've been trying to get separated for a few years, long story - but the truth is, we're as married today as we were 28 years ago in the eyes of the law.

Is he legally allowed to do this? Will the insurance company request to see a divorce decree?

Thanks -

(I'm a female - dennis not my name!)

I don't think this is a legal complication, but a purely domestic one. Let him do that and just go get your own insurance, and own license plates and possibly your own car. I don't think this a room for an argument, be a woman, just do your own thing.

Hi, Tickle. The problem is much more complicated. He's basically "assumed" all marital money is his, he's very violent and I'm very afraid of him.
I used to earn the lion's share of the money, left my job about 10 years ago to start my own business which is not doing any where near what it should (basically because I can barely function because of his horrid abuse). So... I can not afford my own insurance at this time.
