I want to lose some unwanted pounds, with summer coming up, to feel & look better in clothes. It's already going to be uncomfortable with the heat, I need to feel at least comfortable with my body. But as a single mom of a toddler, an excercise/work out program is pretty much impossible.

Of course there is eating better, but I have picky eater so I had been eating whatever they would eat. What are some good food/meal ideas that would be filling but not calorie overkill?

The good news is that diet will help you lose the pounds quicker than exercise.

Get rid of all the junk food. Children don't need junk any more than you do.

Cook from fresh, it's quicker than you think, and the quality of your food will be much better. As much as possible go for eggs, oily fish, fresh meat and chicken, lots and lots of green vegetables, olive oil, dairy, whole fruit (not juice), nuts, wholegrains.

Try to cut out all the white carbs (bread, pasta, rice, cereals, potatoes) and eat lots more vegetables.

A typical day might be something like mushroom and herb omlet for breakfast. Fish (whatever is on sale) and big green salad, with olive oil and vinegar dressing for lunch. Steak or chicken and piles of broccoli/green beans/cauliflower/spinach for dinner. Snack on raw nuts or cottage cheese.
