I am 36 weeks pregnant with first baby and I am starting to have time-able painless contractions every 10 minutes. The baby has been so much more active the past few days and is really low causing some mild pain deep in the pelvis. I have also been having some mild dull back ache today along with some nausea. Could this all be a sign of the upcoming of labor?

It's possible.

Do the contractions stop if you sit and relax or get up and walk?

If you think this is labor then call your doctor. If it's false labor you won't be the first one or the last to call with a false alarm. Better safe then delivering in the bathroom at home. ;)
