I am twenty-two years old. I have a girlfriend (long-distance), but we have not had intercourse in two months. I recently discovered a small bump on the shaft of my penis. It is hard and slightly red. I went two years without intercourse before I met my current girlfriend and have never had any thing like this before. She was tested for STDs before we began our relationship. It doesn't hurt and can't be popped. I am quite worried because I've been reading that it could be cancer or warts. I know I shouldn't self diagnose. Any advice as to what it could be? I am poor and can't throw money away at a doctor. I am hoping it is just a cyst or something.

In a case like this you really do need to see your doctor. Another thing that may be offered is a health clinic of some kind. But it really needs to be checked out by a professional.

I understand this, but I've looked at pictures of warts and cancer. They look nothing like what I have. I couldn't be herpes because it is just a single bump and no puss. Although I do agree with you I should just see a doctor.

There is no way for anyone here to tell you what is really going on. It could be any number of things. That's why a doctor is your only real choice.
