I have an older John Deere mower. (LX172) I am trying to remove the mower deck but having no luck. There are two U shaped pins towards the back. One side of the U has a spring behind the bracket and the other does not. It looks like I just need to pull those pins out and turn them to release the back of the mower but that is not working. No matter how hard I pull on them, they do not clear the bracket in order to have the deck drop. Any help? Thanks

Thanks but I got it. It's a pain in the a** though. You have to pry the brackets downward while pulling and twisting the pins due to a notch on the end of the pin that won't fit through the hole.
