Getting started and want to do it right.

I could have given you a website but there were many to chose from. If you Google 'starting a pet sitting business' you will have a lot of ideas. I hope you have good neighbours though !

There are as many different ways to run a successful pet sitting business as there are successful hamburger restaurants. Those restaurants are successful because they adopted the unique ideas of the owner.

You should adopt your unique ideas.

Get your name out. I do pet sitting on the side. I work as a veterinary technician in an animal hospital, and a lot of clients ask if we know anyone who petsits, so I get a lot of business. People seem willing to pay me more than usual due to my career choice too which is nice. :D
So.. get out there. Make posters and give your info to pet stores, veterinary clinics, etc etc. Word of mouth spreads fast it seems.
I suggest you make up some type of agreement however about payments. The clinic helped me come up with mine, and it's basically to lay out exactly what is expected of you and how payment will be arranged. So far I haven't been stiffed for pay, but if I do they just get a bill sent to them from my work. So think about finding a way to ensure you actually get paid.
