The pvc nipple on the intake of my shallow well pump was leaking. I cut the 1 1/4 inch pipe and was going to couple in a new nipple. The coupling would not fit the old pipe. It is white 1 1/4 " and so is my replacement pipe. I showed it to three different hardware stores and none of them could answer why my fitting did not fit. I now see that the old pipe says 370 PSI on it. Is there white 1 1/4 pressure pipe? If so where do I get the fittings for it? I have worked with schedule 80 and it has always been grey. Thanks, Kevin

Are you sure you're not attempting to connect a PVC coupling into a PVC Pressure nipple? PVC Pressure pipe and fittings have thicker pipe walls. Regards, Tom
