I was wondering if there was any particular plant or flower or tree I could grow in my garden to deter skunks and raccoons. I know squirrels are probably a lost cause.

I have free standing bird feeders, I know that's why they are there, but maybe if I could naturally "shoo" them away.

I think I heard once that Iris will keep cats away. Anyone know if that's true?

One farmer I was talking to this past week claims his iris bed between his garden and the woods kept the deer out of the veggies. I've also heard that marigolds are good for repelling "varmints."

Get some of those cone shaped, "critter blockers". I don't know what they are called, but they prevent the unwanted animals from climbing the feeder poles. They work.

I just bought some marigolds! I'll be planting them this week end. Thanks Cats.

Oh you, I haven't seen those in a while. I know the squirrels can still get in, but the skunks and raccoons are actually bedning the feeders in half. I would assume it's from their weight...

So this is where you like it... the thread... :P

A few years ago I turned on my air conditioner and hundreds of lady bugs came out, some dead some alive. Some were red, some where orange and some were whitish gray.

I went to chit chat to explain the difference. The grey-white ones were likely freshly molted.
