Hi, all!

Okay, some recipes call for only one egg to use in the mix. This would usually be for when we might be baking something.

What size egg do they mean, please?

I'm the kind of person who likes to buy the jumbo ones!

Thanks!

I always they usually meant an average sized egg. Depending on where you buy your eggs.. one stores large can be anothers medium.

I always buy x-large for cooking and jumbo for eating, I've never had a problem with the baking. I do however lower the amount of eggs if it calls for more than 3.:)

What sort of baking recipes would call for more than three eggs? I can understand if it's a recipe for a very large group of people.

Thanks!

I've always assumed it meant large eggs. Many of my recipes state specifically to use large.

Recipes calls for certain things but recipes can always be varied in ingredients and the size of ingredients.

I have always used large eggs in anything and everything.

Gosh! The six, large eggs are probably a "pound" by themselves! :)

I'm thinking the Pound in Pound Cake refers to the amount of fat that grows on each butt cheek after indulging.

Originally 'Pound Cake' was a pound of each ingredient.. that's why it was called 'Pound Cake';)
