Hello Members,

Apparently my son was at a friends house, he is currently 17 years old.
Him and some friends were fooling around with "Keyloggers", and sent them out among Youtube.

Apparently they received a Paypal account with a bank account and or credit card attached to the account.

He said that he spent around $160.43 on a "Nintendo DS Game & Playstation 3 Console" in which he bought from Ebay.

He said he sent the purchased items to our address.
Know I'm wondering what type of trouble could he be eligible for if he was caught.

He has never been arrested before, no record.

The same trouble anyone would get into if they walked into a stole and stole a Playstation or used someone else's credit card to buy one. This is theft, petty theft, but theft still.

What I would recommend is either to cancel the sale or return the merchandise. If you can't do that. Then go to the police, tell them what happened, offer to reimburse the amount and donate the merchandise to charity.

If you do that, there is a possibility that PayPal and the account holder, will not prosecute.

Serious trouble, depending also on the total store and the number of ID's stolen.

Just stealing the ID information is one charge, each time they used the stolen credit card info is another charge.

Also you can be held liable for paying back all of the people and/or the credit card companies, since you are the parent of the minor child.

And since the items were being sent to your address, you in fact could get arrested or charged first, Police don't care about exact facts, ID was stolen, stolen goods mailed to your house, you are the adult, they will charge you to make you give up the people who did it.

Have you talked to the other parents ( the friends parents he was at their home)
