View Full Version : Broke Leg

Well of all silly things I fell yesterday and broke my leg in two places yesterday. The Doctor I saw yesterday said I needed to see a specialist today.
Well I guess if you see me answering in the relationshp or pet area you know I am getting too bored at home sitting

Wish you could be my nurse, I have a 3 pm appointment with the doctor who will do the operation I think, not up on bones and breaks, they were spiral breaks

I'm not too up on bones or breaks either, unless it has to do with baby shoulders. I wish I knew more, and I wish I could be your nurse as well.

Well an excuse for the poor spelling anyway, but yes, If I start telling them to run naked down the road to attack a new boy or girl friend, you will know it is the meds for sure

Well keep your mind out of the gutter ( well at least for 6 to 8 weeks)
I fell off the back of my truck when moving a wheel chair that was being taken to a handicap center.
Well Excon, light one up for me, the pain pills are not doing it right now.

Apr 27, 2010, 04:26 PM
LOL! Sorry Chuck, but that's really ironic.
So you broke your leg moving a wheel chair for someone, and now you need a wheel chair?
Come on, you know you want to laugh a little. ;)

Yes, I know I had two wheel chairs and a walker on the truck.
I was in a parking lot owned by a hospital. It was funny I am sure, several people saw it happen. I fell and just could not get up. When I finally did, it was bad.
To make it funnier, I could not go to be treated in that hospital because it was not on our company list for workers comp treatment

Knee down to toes. Breaks were right around the ankle. Leg got twisted to the point of breaking.
It was some wrap that got hard within a few minutes, they wet the wrap and tortured me putting it on and then let it dry.
** OK they were really very professional and I am a bad patient. I was held to some frame while they did the wrap, guess to keep everything straight

And hide the cereal!
When Sydney broke her arm she had to get 3 new casts. Every time they took it off they discovered it hadn't completely healed and a new one would be put on.
She wasn't quite 2 and it was a cast that you could get wet (thank God).
Every time they took off the cast we'd find the most unusual things inside. Cheerios, a barbie shoe, plastic play coins (which left an indent for around a week afterwards), and more.
Chuck, don't go pushing cheerios into your cast, it's not good and starts to smell after around 3 days. ;)

Me too WG, but not for veggies or cereal.
Hubby took us out for a nice dinner yesterday. I had one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. It was cooked to perfection, seasoned to perfection, it was, in short, perfection! :)
I was so stuffed last night, now I'm wishing there were leftovers.
Tummy grumbling. Mamma wants meat! :)

Medium rare. I like it a bit bloody. :)
Me too. Except for a Filet Mignon, I like it rare.
I was raised on Middle Eastern food. We have a raw beef dish, called Kibbee Naya. I have the taste for raw beef.
Cold, red, bloody, raw. With salt and pepper with a raw onion. MMMMM...
I know e-coli... but I take my chances from time to time.

Isn't it tough when it's burnt that much? I always tell the server just to lead it past the fire on the way out.

The steak I had last night was Filet Mignon. It was cooked a bit more then I'd usually like, but it was still perfection. It melted in my mouth it was that tender. Hubby had the prime rib, pretty much rare. It was good too.
I can't do raw, I'd gag. That's too much blood for me. I like it warm, tender, seasoned and nummy. It was definitely nummy.
The funny part was the kids. We usually go to Outback steak house when we have a night out, but this time we went to Steak Village. Sydney was all excited, said "We usually go to a house, this time we're going to an entire Village!" :p

Fiberglass, I don't even go back for 6 weeks and I think they change it to another type of cast then. I can do crutches but got a wheel chair today for going to town.
And not coat hangers, the metal rod that goes in the file folder hangers, narrower and works better ( so they tell me)
And yes, except for a few legal issues over the workers comp ( going to be asking that on the legal board) but drugs and soap opera, who can ask for anything more.

I don't know about you but I wouldn't try that with Walmart meat or any big chain. Only with a nice local butcher that has home grown beef.

Johnny's pizza, that was mine for today.
Never heard of it. Is it a chain or a family business?
I'm not a big fan of pizza, not to my liking. There's only ever been one pizza that I've craved. My hubby worked with a guy, East Indian fellow, his wife's parents made the most amazing pizza I've ever had.
They opened a restaurant but sadly it wasn't rent controlled. After six months the landlord doubled the rent, they couldn't afford it and had to shut down. :(
Now they live in England. No one's ever made pizza that's ever come close to this. Secret family recipe. I may have to divorce hubby and marry their son so I can get my hands on that pizza. ;)

A larger Regional, they do all hand tossed. AS one who has traveled all the US and dozes of nations, they are the best I have ever ate at. Not fancy but good.
Well believe it or not I am going back to work on Monday. I will be doing "paper work" and showing some of the younger techs how to fix things. Well going to try anyway,

Work? Chuck, you better take it easy. I don't think you're ready to go to work. You should be sitting around, leg up, relaxing and healing, eating pizza, watching soaps and posting on AMHD. That's the limit young man (said in my most strict mom voice).
Don't make me call your doctor and give him crap. You know I will.
