I have had a hair color nightmare! I went in to get my grays covered before my engagement photos (I'm only 27 and already have grays :( ) the swatch of hair matched my natural color perfectly... the outcome when rinsed and dried was red hair! I went back a few days later and they put a medium dark brown over it... which resulted in orange hair. I finally went to a different salon and they applied a double ash which turned my hair a dark brown... but no red! I like it but it is way darker than anything I have ever had before. My natural color is an ash blonde/really light brownish combo... pretty and I love it (or should say loved) The brown has started to fade and I really don't see any red rearing it's ugly head... unfortunately, now I have a brassy tone to the roots (which was the reddest part). I work in the sun a lot so my question is, should I just leave it alone and let the sun do it's magic or will it just make it more brassy (I always get at least 1 if not 2 shades lighter in the summer) or should I spend some more money on a particular shampoo?? I am really at a loss. Will the red come back or has the hair folicle been altered enough that I am free of it? My hair color is not terrible and it really isn't orange... kind of a brassy dark blondish color at the roots. I still have really healthy hair so anymore chemical alteration is completely out of the question... forever! I have already pushed my engagements pics back until mid July... any comments/tips would be greatly appreciated!

You can buy a box brass remover, It works really well. You can also buy shampoo/conditioner for red hair and it brings out any red in it. If your looking for that red tinge I would go with the shampoo/conditioner.
