OK so I'm 19 (legal drinking age) and I am freaking out! I really want to go to the bars/clubs, but I have NO CLUE what to wear. I would like to dress a little more.. adult, but I'm scared I'll look like a loser :/
I am a little bigger than average (145 pounds, 5'5'') and I'm also worried about looking like a fat cow..
What do you wear while clubbing? And do people judge you by what you have on?

Dress how you want, if you wear what someone else tells you to wear then your individuality goes out the window.

Something comfortable! I hate it when I wear something too tight or too short or too anything when I go out for a good time. Instead of spending the night enjoying myself I worry about my clothes and making sure they're just right still. No fun that way.
You should look for clothing that compliments your body shape. Like no horizontal stripes unless you're really, really skinny because they make anyone look larger. Vertical stripes on the other hand will tend to make you look thinner. The way the clothes are cut is also important. Like, I always see these really cute tops were the bottom sort of flares out but the top is cute. My friend is taller than me and can somehow totally pull them off. But when I put them on, I look pregnant. Not such a cute look when you're not actually pregnant. Lol and I can wear long leggings or tights that cover my feet and if they're long enough they make my legs look slimmer. But if I get leggings that are even a few inches too short, they make my legs look fat because of were they cut off. A lot of times magazines have sections with pictures of different body types and examples of what is most flattering. Or, if you watch what not to wear (I think its on tlc) you can watch out for women with your body type and use the same tips they give.

These are close to what I wear when I go out... except I wouldn't wear boots, they would just get too yuck by the end of the night.

The empire waist shirts, jeans and heals are always classic.
This is something I would wear. I am a bit chunkier too. About 135-140lbs at 5'5.

Thank you CM! :D
I guess I am used to watching America's Next Top Model where they consider a size 6 a plus size model. But that's another thread! :)

Indeed it is. I wish I was a 6 again, I miss that! I'm a 10 these days. I will be a 4 or 6 by next summer, I refuse to buy a double digit sized wedding dress, but that also is for another post. I might need to bump my wedding post.

I would say depending on where you are going. For a simple night at a bar jeans a cute shirt and heels always work for me. Clubs are different depending on the grandeaur. Party dresses are fun and they are completely adorable with both heels and flats depending on your comfort level because you may not necessarily have a place to sit! Two pieces are really in right now like a tank or tee with a bubble or tiered skirt and that is versatile as well with a thong or gladiator sandal or jazzed up with a nice wide belt and a cute heel. But the most important thing is how u feel about you if you like it and you are comfortable and it makes you feel great you will exude that. Oh and remember accessories can change something that is completely plain into something jazzy! Have fun with it, it doesn't matter who likes it you have to like the way you look or else you will just be uncomfortable, I think someone already said that but they are right!
