Have new Hayward Super pump with motor. 1.5 HP, same size as old one I removed.
I wired it up and it worked great fro about 10 minutes the shut off. The pump hot.
I have an older style Intermatic timer switch, not sure of model as I couldn't find it on the timer.
I did check motor connectors and one of the spade type connectros was not really very tight. I can switch out those, but my question first is:
How can I tell if the wiring from timer to motor is 110 or 220?
Each of the 2 terminal were showing about 110.
Entering the timer switch box from breaker are 4 wires, 1 black, 1 white and 2 brown. The black and white wires just go out the bottom to conduit going to a plug in yard with a ground fault plug.
The 2 brown wires connect to 2 different terminals on the timer switch.
Then there are 3 wires going to motor through conduit, 2 black and 1 green.
I connected the 2 black to the same 2 different terminals on the timer that the 2 brown wires were connected to, and the green to the ground in timer box.
On motor side connected the black wires to 2 different connecting terminals and green to ground.
Again my question by all this can you tell me if this sounds like 110 or 220 coming to timer switch and or from timer switch to motor?
Sorry I don't know much about electrical, but this surely is not to difficult. Thanks for any help on this...
