I'm about to build a custom tile shower pan using mortar.. I'm using the kerdi membrane shower kit without the kerdi tray because the existing pvc can not be moved center ( about 3" off center.. so i'm skeeding my own sloped mortar bed.. Is it mandated that i use a vinyl liner before the mortar or can i just use felt over the double sub plywood..and few inches of paperover the perimeter alcove walls? The membrane is thinset to 1/2" drywall and so totally waterproof.. so this is why I ask if it is plumbers code and do I still need a mortar bed liner? Thanks ahead


Never mind, I made my screed using 1/2 sheetrock
