I was arrested for shoplifting and theft by taking in NYC ten years ago. I have since graduated from a drug tx program in NYC, obtained a 4.0 college average and graduated college in 1997. I am living in Ga, I established a behavioral health center, 501C3 and successful ran the business for ten years. When the economy tanked so did my business. I am considering teaching in Georgia. Will my criminal past hinder employment as a teacher in Georgia. Thanks for any answers I receive.

Hi, mspcollins!

Do you presently have a teacher's license or certificate, please?

Thanks!

Hello m:

I'll bet your past will haunt you. But, since they're so long ago, why don't you apply for a pardon. Given your history POST conviction, you have a very good chance at it.
