I live in Indiana, my ex is supposed to be in Missouri, I had my daughter early (3 months early). He came to see me in hospital and never showed back up. That was 5 years ago. If the father was not presewnt at time of birth and signed neither the birth certificate or birth acknowledgment he is not legal Father. In fact there is no legal Father. Now getting another named legal Father is a bit more complicated. Here is a site that might answer that one for you
