my female cat about 6 months old has always used the litter box until about 3 weeks ago. She started randomly every morning peeing in the same spot on the carpet in my bathroom. When the carpet isn't there she doesn't its something about the carpet. Please help.

Could she be pregnant ? Is she neutered ? If so, could be acting out and trying to understand what is going on. It would probably be her first pregnancy, right? Female cats do weird things when they become pregnant, much like us.

Hi again 11young, well that puts that idea to bed. Does she still use her litterbox AND pee in that spot ? Cats have many ways of expressing themselves that we, as their serviant caregivers can read, but at times they do have ways of confusing us. At six months she is still a, say teenager in cat years. I would have to say put her litterbox in that one special spot for the time being, just to give her notice, then move it back. She could be doing this for some attention even if she gets enough, but there is another cat in the house and she is still finding her bearings in that atmosphere.
