I found a sutible horse but when the fetlock was vet checked it wasn't felixable enough and after the third time of checking it became lame.

Would you buy a car without the correct ticket ?

If it didn't pass the vet check then you could be setting yourself up for some expensive vet bills later in the horses life.

If you feel the vet is wrong, or if you don't mind a sick animal or one that may have walking issues.

The vet inspection warns you about issues,

Have you considered getting a second opinion? That would be my first step.

If you go to a different vet and get the same diagnosis, they you really have to consider the future of this animal. Are you willing to deal with an animal that will have health issues? Are you willing and able to pay maybe thousands of dollars for this animals care?

I know that I'm the kind of person that would probably adopt the horse (if I could have a horse) just because of it's health problems and the fact that he'll most likely never find a forever home because of them. But that's not always reasonable or the smart thing to do.

This isn't a small animal, this is an animal that requires a lot of care and maintenance fees even when it's in tip top shape.

I'd really think it over logically, not with your heart but with your brain. Can you afford this and can you physically and mentally do this?

I think it comes down to what your intentions for this horse would be. Do you want to do a lot of riding? Or is it basically going to be a pet? Is the horse for children or for you?

I would agree... you should get a second or maybe third opinion from a vet who specializes in equine or even a farrier. A lot of the time, foot issues can be corrected with good hoof care.

If lameness occurs after such minimal movement it is likely that the horse would be difficult to ride for any length of time. If you are looking for something for a companion with little to know intention of riding it wouldn't be an issue. If you are looking for something that you can ride a lot and work hard this probably isn't a good idea.
