I see minor water leaks from a "rubber patch" (circled in red in picture) beneath one of my sinks in the kitchen, when I pour a substantial amount of water into it. I have twin sinks, and when I use the other one no leak is observed.
Is this something easy to fix? Thanks a lot!

That patch is a patch glued on the surface of the sink. There should be no hole under neath it. Are you sure water is not overflowing sink pouring down on the side of the sink and hitting the patch where it eventually starts dripping ?

Thanks Milo. Yes I did see that the water was dripping from the edge of the patch, and my sink wasn't full at all. The tap had been left running for about 10 minutes. Anything else I can check?
Cheers.

I doubt the patch has anything to do with the leak. Do this: peel it off and tell me if it leaks from the same spot again...
These patches are pasted to the highest points on s.s. sinks to protect it from accidental damage during transport.

Milo, you are right. I tried again yesterday. I let the tap run for 20 minutes and didn't see any leak beneath the sink. My best guess is, I was cleaning the sink when I saw the "leak" and maybe there are some tiny gaps in between my counter top and the sink where water got in.
So I think what I need to do now is to find some product to seal the gaps if there's any. Thanks so much for your help! I was really freaking out when I thought that my sink was leaking.

When we caulk a sink. Lavatory or tub we use Dap White Tub and Tile Caulk. (see image). Good luck, Tom

Tom said it: use Dap caulk. We also use Latex Caulk with Acrylic. It is easy to apply and cleans with water. They sell them in many different colors to match your counter top and sink.

Thanks for the suggestion Milo and Tom! Will go to Home Depot tomorrow and get it :)
