I have got a panasonic viera plasma 39in and it has just stopped working. When I plug the power into the TV it does nothing, I have taken the back off and had a look at the fuses but none are broken so what now?

Considering that I'm certain you are confused about what a fuse looks like (as I don't recall seeing many, if any in flat panels), I would suggest that you do not take your TV apart. Especially since there can be deadly charges left built up in flat panel TVs.

Is your TV still under warranty? If so, contact Panasonic. If not, do any status lights come on at all? A standby light perhaps?

Also, please provide the model number.

The Model number is TH-37PV70AZ. No lights turn on what so ever. I turned it on and left it on for about an hour before it just turned off and wouldn't turn back on.

How long ago did you purchase this TV? Have you tested it in another outlet? Is/was it plugged into a power conditioner, surge protecter, power strip, etc?

DUH! I have done all that, that's just commonsense. I purchased it 3 years ago it was plugged into a surge protector, so therefore I put it down to the power supply not getting to wherever it has to go. But just need to know from anyone else that have had this sort of problem. Please let me know asap!!

It comes with a 1 year warranty. You have a warranty through Panasonic. Call Panasonic or the retailer you purchased it from. Heck, 3 weeks, you might even be able to exchange it with the retailer.

Sorry I didn't reply way back then, I guess I never saw your response. FYI: What you might consider "common sense" is not attempted by the average person. I do TV repair for a living and have been to several homes where all I had to do was push a button, or move something out of the way of the TV, or touch a loose connection on their cable box. You didn't say what you tried in order to fix the TV, so I had to assume you hadn't done anything yet.

If you don't have your voltages coming from your power supply, then it is most likely your power supply which needs to be replaced. Usually if something else is causing a problem, the TV will turn on, then immediately back off and the standby light will begin blinking a certain code.
