I came across an interesting quiz.
Nolan Chart (http://www.nolanchart.com/survey.php)
I'm about halfway up the Libertarian arrow and a little right of center.

Interesting.
I used to be a Centrist. Now I'm VERY Libertarian.
Nolan Chart (http://www.nolanchart.com/results.php)
Okay, even MORE hilarious is that when I clicked on my own link, it put me at the peak of statist.
I'm left of the center, but 3/4 up on the Libertarian section.

A very interesting quiz, it said I was a conservative libertarian, which sounds about right.
It says I am a centrist liberal, I guess:p

I'm a centrist with libertarian tendencies and all this time I thought I was a liberal, go figure. The quiz was stacked because some of the answers are a best fit not an true expression of my views which can be conservative

If you look at the authors of the articles on the left you`ll notice that over 90% of them are libertarians. I bet the quiz is geared to show libertarian most of the time.

As I suspected "libertarianism" is such a vague and undefined position that everyone has some opinions that this poll considers libertarian.
This poll positions me on the right side of the libertarian slot and close to centrist. But there were more than one set of option statements that did not exactly fall within the position I take on the issues. I also find their positioning strange as I would place American liberal and statist almost in the same plane.

The truly interesting facets of this little exercise are 1) Bringing some others into the Current Events forum, and 2) As NK said, the way the options were written. It demonstrates how easy it is to come up with a survey or a poll that will say anything you want it to.

The president issue is interesting. Most people will vote the worst as a president in their lifetime. What can get REALLY interesting is to point out who the BEST president was overall. Always neat to see how many people choose someone besides Lincoln, FDR, or Kennedy.

One of the best and I can see a whole lot of jaws dropping.. Nixon. He knew his stuff when it came to being diplomatic with countries such as China... etc. He also helped in ending the Vietnam War. I don't think anyone is doing anything to end this one and that makes me think all politicians are the same, they will say anything to get into office and once they get there.. NADA. So Go Ahead, Let Me Have It!

I really think that Nixon was a great president, especially regarding foreign policy.
His major drawback, which might be a good way to determine future candidates, was his lack of media presence. He was probably the least photogenic president of the 20th Century, and he hated the press.

This was a very interesting survey. Most people who know me would probably tell you that I'm a bleeding heart liberal. I always thought of myself as a conservative Democrat. Yes, KitKat, we do exist! :)
This survey had me as a centrist but quite close to conservative!
Most of the questions didn't exactly depict my views. For a couple of them I actually had to choose the least inappropriate answer. It just goes to prove that you can elicit whatever answers you want with the right wording.

Thanks LisaB... You're right some of the questions were like picking the lesser of the evils. I guess a conservative independent and a conservative Democrat are pretty much alike so we are on the same page... That's great!

I am not a bleeding heart liberal but if you saw me one the street you would think I am.
I drive a Honda Insight hybrid not cause I am concerned with global warming but because I drive a minimum of 52 miles a day and gas was killing me. Plus I was one of the first people to have it in America when it come out last year(I know a guy so I got mine early!! ). And it was less then $20,000 when it came out so it was in my price range.
I always have a reusable steel water bottle on me. Not cause I think plastic is evil it is actually cause I am lazy. My car fills up with water bottles and my wife freaks out on me.
I am a gun owner. I like guns I like going to the firing range. Although I wish there was a way to make gun laws stricter for people who get them illegally. Cause people like me and others on this site aren't the problem.
I don't vote straight down any party lines if someone has a good idea I vote for them.

I would love to own a hybrid.. Also my husband and I go to the firing range once in a while! I DO NOT believe in someone telling me I can't have a gun, because of thugs who kills someone. People who are intent on murder are going to get a gun somehow, even if they have to steal one. I don't think I have ever voted for someone simply because they are a Reublican or Democrat. I think America is the greatest country in the world, even with it's flaws. Spitvenom , want to sell that hybrid?

Sorry Kitkat that car has saved me so much money it isn't even funny. And not just on gas but on oil changes. When I bought it the dealer said look this car doesn't get an oil change every 3,000 miles it only needs it when this gauge gets to 15%. I will have the car a year at the end of this month and I only got the oil changed once!! And I get anywhere between 46 to 52 MPG depending on how fast I drive.
If you can look into the Honda Insight they have 2 models 1st model is 19,800 next model is 21,000

It is a nice car but if you like to drive it is definitely not the car you want. The drive by wire is a little strange feeling. And the 0-60 is like 12 seconds or something like that. But I went from spending about 300 a month on gas to about 80 a month on gas. I like the CRV my mother in law has one. Honda is making a sports car hybrid called the CRZ it is a little strange looking but much faster then the Insight and the MPG ranges from 35-40.
