Anywhere from 10 to 20 percent, usually around 5 -10 dollars at a regular salon for just a haircut, and for waxing etc apply the percent rule

Tipping has gotten way out of hand. I must say, it seems today that everyone gets a tip for everything. Shouldn't employers be the one paying because that's who he/she is working for. I mean that is how society works. Employer needs help, employer pays employee. Regardless of whatever job. I'm kind of sick of always tipping. Not only are we wasting money on paying for things we need, but we also ultimately lose a substantial amount because of tipping.

The basis for tipping is to give someone a little extra when you think they went beyond their basic job requirements to do really well, or go out of their way to do something for you. People should never expect a tip just because they are doing their job, they should expect a tip when they pay special attention to you and go out of their way, especially,

For a 9 dollar haircut, I always give a dollar tip.
