Almost 4 years ago I left my kids in Kansas while I came to Colorado to be with my mother before she died. The doctors said that she could not be around children at that time because she was on chemotherapy and any germ exposure could have been fatal. I left my 2 sons with their father and my daughter with her regular babysitter. Less than a day later I received a phone call that my children were in police custody because I had abandoned them. That lead to a lot of court things and unfair demands that I could not meet. I was told that I had the option to either sign my rights away or have them taken from me along with any children that I may have in the future. I signed. I have since obtained all the court documents and there are contradicting stories from one page to the next - literally. I want to know if I have any options in trying to regain custody ideally or at least rights to visitation. Oh yeah, the boys were eventually returned to their father and my daughter has since been adopted.

I doubt you have any recourse - I don't see that any of the "contradicting info" led to you signing your rights away. There apparently were Court hearings and you were required to make changes in your life which you did not make - and then you signed custody away.

What unfair demands did the Court make of you?

You might have a chance at visitation with your boys; your daughter now has legal parents.
