Hi everyone!

I guess everyone knows about the economy and how bad it is and especially the housing market!

I used to care about my credit score so much that I paid my bill even before the due date and always on time and never had a problem with it! Until the housing market collapsed (I'm a real estate agent) and then my income went so low that I could not afford to pay any of my creditors including medical bill ( dentist ).

I have left the U.S. back to my country looking to see my family and find a job and start all over again.

I know that I have to file for bankruptcy before leaving but did not have enough money to do it.

I checked my name in the court system online and found to cases against me:

1- CitiFinacial Auto ( my car loan ).
2- Dentist bill.

I know the rest will follow! My question is could I file bankruptcy while outside united states? If not, what is the time frame that I can file for bankruptcy? Do I get into trouble if I don't file at all and leave it the way it is?

And do I have a problem going back to U.S. to see my daughter every year? Please advise me, I used to live in Seattle, Washingon

Thanks a lot.

You can file, but will have to make at least 2 personal appearance in court. So it would mean travel back to the US to appear in court.

Also bankruptcy laws are Federal only the exemptions vary by state.

Will it be a problem if I don't file at all?
Will they be after my life for not fileing??
And visit the U.S. to see my kid every year?
