Here's a marketing question... What are some of the benefits of playing music or a professional recording through the on hold system of your business phone vs other traditional options? I am braining storming new benefits and would like to get some feet back on how professional music on hold can benefit a company?

Of course many people don't, It is hard to choose one type of music that everyone would like, and it would be very bad to play a music that a customer hates,

It is best to have a system where customers are not left on hold for long enough to really matter.

Does the Hold Cube work on a regular CO Line, or is it inputted into a KSU?
I take it you sell these?

Hi, HoldCube!

As long as the music isn't too loud and is classical in nature, like orchestra, chamber music, etc. I wouldn't mind it. Therefore, I would be more inclined to wait.

I don't really know of any benefit to a person being put on hold though, no matter what type of music is played. The shorter the time on hold and the more pleasant it is while being on hold, would be the best for me.

Thanks!

The question is asked as a "marketing question"... so there is a decision to use "hold time" with the caller as a marketing opportunity. Many of us do not like being "sold to", however a skilled writer can craft announcements that accomplish marketing goals in a way that is engaging or interesting. We tend to think of on-hold messaging as a sales pitch, but perhaps short, relevant, natural-sounding announcements will work for you. Music can be anything that will not sound annoying over the tiny speaker on a phone, but must be properly licensed.
