Hello,
I am an international student ( from India) did my Masters in Computer Science in NY. I am working as a Software Developer ( full-time) on OPT and I want to apply for H1B this year (2010) . My employer is willing to provide all the documents and asked me to file my H1B on my own. And he is also willing to sponsor my Green card ( at my cost) immediately if possible. I am ready to spend money for Green card and I am wondering if I can apply for Green card immediately after my H1b approval. And how long does it take to get Green card if my company is willing to speed up the process from their side. Please help. Thank you.

Since I did not get any response yet.. I am answering my own
Question..
I spoke to an immigration attorney and he said I can apply for Green Card once I have a valid H1B. The fees is around $7000( for attorney, other forms and documents). Since, I am an Indian Citizen the current wait time is 5 years (under EB-2). So, If I apply for GC now.. I might get it in 2015 {how sad :( :(... }. Anyway.. I hope the info helps.

Be advised, you cannot pay for the fees for the labor certification. Confirm this with you attorney. Good luck.
