I always used to be able to just move the cursor over a hyperlink and get the "finger", then click to open the link.

Out of the blue, I no longer get the "finger" and must right click on the hyperlink, then hit "open" to open the site.

Can anyone tell me how to get the "finger" working again?

Thanks...

That's quite strange. Does this happen in all browsers? I assume you are using Windows as your OS and probably Internet Explorer as your browser. Have you tried others like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox?

I am using XP and Firefox, but it happens inside documents like Word. This has never happened before in IE7 or Firefox.

Note: I get the pointing finger when hovering over a hyperlink in Google (in Firefox or IE7), but if I copy the address from the address bar and paste it into a Word document, no pointing finger. The hyperlink is active, but again, I must right click > Open, to get to the web page.

This is totally new and just started happening on it's own.

For those who may be interested, I found the answer.

Within Word, Tools>Options>Edit Tab>Deselect "Use Ctrl+Click to follow hyperlink"
