Box wines have an unfair image of being low-class and poor quality. There are many great quality box wines and buying these wines is much better for the environment than the traditional glass bottles. Manufacturing and transporting the heavier glass bottles causes much more pollution and the boxes are recyclable and come in 1 liter or larger sizes as opposed to the traditional 750ml glass bottles, making them more economical as well. Let's hope that the traditionalist Niles Crane wine snobs come around to boxes and help the environment. I have tried many box wines and they have been just as good as bottles.

Earl:)
I have always bought boxed wine (also bottles) I love the boxed wine:D I use it for cooking and drinking:)
It actually seems way less alcoholic than a bottle, but that's not what I am looking for.

While what you are saying does indeed have some validity, box wines are indeed low quality, mass produced and marketed.
The material used for the internal bladder does affect the flavour and qualities of the wine.
They are not designed for any type of cellaring.
They do fit a niche, but for the real wine aficionados they are avoided at all costs.

While great strides have been made in the production of box wine, it will never replace the traditionally glass bottled product.
Also you forgot to mention the recyclablity of glass bottles as opposed to the plastic bladder used in boxes.

In my mnay years in the UK wine trade I was unable to fine a boxed product that even came close in quality to a bottled wine.
