Last year I bought a house in Lee County, Florida which is being managed by a Property Manager Company. This makes me a first time landlord. I live in New Jersey and have a regular job. I know what I have to do as far as Federal and New Jersey state taxes is concerned but what are my tax obligations to the state of Florida?

Florida doesn't have an income tax.

It's my understanding that this is source income generated from the state of Florida. Since you are a resident of NJ, you pay state income taxes on this income to NJ only because Florida does not have state income taxes.

If Florida had an income tax then you would most probably have to pay state taxes to Florida and then get a credit to offset NJ taxes.

Believe it or not athletes pay state taxes in each state that they played a game in, because the states say they generated the income in their state.
