A good quality puppy chow should do the trick!
How old is your pup?
Are you deciding to go Hollistick or raw?
Try to stay away from a lot of manufactured dog treats, as home made ones are much better for your pup.

The age of the puppy is the determining factor in the content of a Dobie's diet.
Other than chew toys, up to about six months any high protein high calcium puppy food is good. Continuing a high protein diet after six months can lead to kidney problems, and in some cases dysplasia if you also continue high calcium.
After six months, your dog's activity level and lifestyle will determine their dietary needs. A very active Dobe will continue to need a 21% protein food while a pup that just goes for walks and plays around the house will do well on a 15-18% protein food.
There are so many different brands available it's impossible to make a recommendation. As Aurora said, you also get to choose the makeup of the food: holistic, raw, manufactured.
Good luck with your baby.
