Older 8hp john deer tractor, may be 12" rear wheels transmission will not go to neutral or reverse, don't thnk its hydrostatic. Any body have anyideas?? Thanks

No model number? Don't even say rear engine rider or maybe a 108 lawn tractor. I bit more info please; no one can see it or read your mind. Apologies if I sound terse, but I have many years on the equipment including John Deere and cannot answer.

No apologies necessary, a bit cranky when I wrote I will get the Model # in the morning, it has a kohler engine could be a 108 lawn tractor but will find out in the morning, Thanks for your quick response

The 108 is a 190707 series Briggs engine. Deere uses Kawasaki more than most, that HP does not exist there.
