I had a 19 week ultrasound scan, the report said there was no gross abnormalities, but the lower spine pics were un clear, so does that mean there's still a chance of a spinal deformatie or birth defect, or why would they out no gross abnormalities?

What does your doctor say? It could be that the baby was moving around too much or the fluid was interrupting with the scan too much to get a clear picture.
If your doctor isn't concerned then please don't let it worry you.
Will you be getting another ultrasound before the birth? Hopefully the picture will be clearer then. Until then, don't worry until there's something to worry about. I know it's not easy but being stressed isn't good for you or your baby, so get it out of your mind, talk to your doctor and try not to let it worry you. Okay?
Good luck to you and congrats on the baby. :)

Can't really get a handle on your question because the last part of the sentence is 'why would they out no gross abnormalities'.
Why are you worried about this gracecooper? Are there birth defects in your family ? Lots of questions, can't answer with so little to go on. l9 weeks is too soon to tell regarding birth defects. The lower spine pics would be just poor ultrasound images.
Please explain why you are worried.
