My husband hit a another car on private property. We only have PLPD on our car, and are not looking at getting ours repaired, but there was some damage to the other vehicle. We have offered to pay for the repairs, but it is starting to feel like we are being taken advantage of. (The owner of the other car did get an estimate but from a place that he freely admitted that he would not take a vehicle to get repaired.) What options do we have? Could we ask him to submit it to his insurance? What if he only has PLPD?
Thanks for your suggestions

Public liability and property damage isn't much coverage to have on a vehicle, but I guess when you cut corners, that's the best that can be done.

If you are paying for the damage, then you can suggest to him that he get three estimates and pick the least expensive one.

Ask him to get a estimate from where he wants it repaired and you will pay the repair shop direct.

If not, let insurance companies fight it out
