I am being sued by a credit collection agency for a debt in Michigan. I just received a certified letter. I have been trying to work out a payment plan with them, but they keep countering with an amount that is 4-5 times what I can afford at this time. There is at least $1,000 in over the limit and finance charges that I feel I should not have to pay due to them lowering my limit multiple times, knowing I was going to be over the limit with the amount of debt I owe. What do I file to contest this? Any other helpful advice would be appreciated.

There is nothing you can do, except to write them letters complaining.
They are allowed to change your credit limit for varoius reasons.

Also if they sue and get a judgement, and garnish your pay, consider how much money that will be, and then consider what you can or can't afford to pay.
