95 Civic LX very difficult to start. Will start after much turning on starter, when it starts, it will idle fine. If the gas pedal is feathered it will rev and hold. If the pedal is blipped it will bog and die. After that it is back to not wanting to start. Can hear the fuel pump run, have fire to all cylinders, plugs, wires and distributor are only 6 months old, head gasket replace 3 month ago. I replaced the fuel filter. Still no starting.
Any suggestions? Starting to do electrical testing now.

Focus on the distributor, if it is not a genuine Honda product. We've had many problems with aftermarket distributors for Hondas at AMHD. I only recommend Honda genuine distributor housings, where it's fine to install an aftermarket igniter and coil. The spark may be weak and not able to handle more fuel, when the accelerator is depressed.
Have you removed all of the spark plugs and checked each cylinder's compression, since the head gasket was replaced?

Nice job.
What brand of distributor did you previously have installed?

Actually I don't know. Made in Tiawan, put on by local auto shop. Replace it with a Rich Porter from OReillys.

Thanks. I have so many problems with aftermarket Honda distributor housings that it's not funny.
