I am 45 yrs old, with poor history of physical exercises. About 3 months ago, I started experiencing pain in my right leg after sitting in a position for a relatively long period (like 2 hrs). No swelling, just more like cramps. The pain is relieved when I lie down, elevate the leg a little bit, or when I do extended exercises (like biking or soccer). Also, when I wake up in the morning, it is usually not there. Occasionally, I also notice a sharp ting in my right butt (i.e. same side), but when I pressure the entire area with my hand, I don't feel any lump or pain on any point specifically. Given the so many possible causes of leg pain, I am a bit worried if it could be something more serious. Can you advise.

Symptom Checker | LIVESTRONG.COM (http://www.livestrong.com/tools/symptom-checker/)

This is a simple site to look into and see what it MIGHT be, otherwise I would suggest to seek professional help.

Try getting up and walking around. Stretch your legs, flex the muscles. Inactivity and sitting for long periods can cause muscle cramps, but more seriously can cause DVT (deep vein thrombosis), which is a more dangerous condition. You might also find some useful information here:
