My 4 yr old had a root canal and 6 silver teeth put in, I didn't think her mouth looked that bad so I don't understand the meaning of the 6 silver teeth!! And will it effect her adult teeth?

I would have hoped the dentist would have shown the x-rays to you and explained WHY this treatment needed to be done.

If there is deep decay in a tooth a pulpotomy is needed to keep the tooth in place. A stainless steel crown is often placed over the tooth at that time for added strength. As for the other 5 stainless steel crowns that were placed the only thing I can assume without seeing the x-rays is that the decay was deeper and covered more tooth surfaces than appeared to the naked eye.

The dentist should have informed you of the treatment needed AND the cost BEFORE he/she did any treatment.
