I was driving my truck this morning and a cardboard box tha I had in the back flew out. I tried to turn around as soon as I could and go get it but when I got there a car must have hit it. A car did come up behind me and blew the horn while I was trying to turn around but I was trying to get back before anyone hit the box. I guess that car may have hit it because when I got back to the box it was destroyed so I kept on my way. Is there anything they can do since no one stopped when it happened even if they did get my tag number.

What are you worrying about ? That someone will report you because a cardboard box flew out of your truck ?

If the box did damage to the car that hit it, you could be liable. You could also be cited for leaving the scene.

You failed to secure your load inside the back of the truck. Anything that flies or falls out of your truck and causes an accident or damage you are liable for.

Yes, if they got your tag number, they can turn it into the police and turn it into their insurance company.

So you could get a ticket and/or be sued for damages , if there were any.
