Hi,

I delivered on 1st Jan, 2010. I had a c-section. My gyne asked me NOT to exercise until 6 weeks but the physiotherapist (suggested by my gyne) said its OK to exercise immediately but not rigorous. I decided to wait till 4 weeks, at least.

I would like to know how I can reduce my weight and the excess fat IMMEDIATELY. I know, "No Crash Diets".

I am 5'4, and now weigh 70kgs. I need to lose at least 10-15kgs within Feb end.

My lower waist was 30" before pregnancy. I need to get back to that. Now my lower waist is 38" and very wobbly.

Also, my bra size was 36C, now its 38D (maybe more, not sure) and sagging. I HATE it and want to get back in shape. At least I want to make iit stiff.

I don't eat anything oily, m a vegetarian (actually egg-itarian but don't eat frequently), I haven't had cheese for a month now, no sweets either, have 3 small meals a day and no other snacks. Weighed 79kgs the day before I delivered.

Please help me. My cousin's wedding is on 1st March and I need to get back in shape by then.

To lose that amount of weight on such a small space of time is not only infeasible, but would be extremely unhealthy.
You are looking at 1+ pound per day for 30 days.

While some of your "baby weight" will indeed "drop off" quite quickly, the majority will take several months.

Breastfeed. At the moment, breastfeeding is your most efficient way of losing fat. All that extra weight is there to feed the baby, so spend a lot of time doing that, and let the baby suck it out of you.

As Curlyben said, be patient. It took nine months to get this way, it takes months to get back to normal.

By all means, exercise gently and eat well, but don't expect miracles.

Be realistic. You may want to be back to your pre-baby weight before the wedding, but you don't NEED to. No-one will kick you out of the church if you are not back in your old jeans. Buy a lovely new dress that looks good on you are you are now, and no-one will even notice.

Actually, they won't. They'll all be far too busy cooing over your baby to notice what size your waist is.

Thanks guys,,

Well, I know its not possible to lose so much so soon,, but one thing I learnt is aim higher than your goal, you will at least work hard to reach your goal.

As for breast feeding, unfortunately, I do not have sufficient milk. Even a lactation expert gave up.
