I currently have a washing machine in the basement and living in the country, meaning that I own a septica and the stack is approx. 5'-0" above the floor and the washing machine is 40' from the stack. Can I drain directly from washing machine to this pump system? I do not have a sink tub and would like to go above ground draining. Is there a way that I can connect directly from washing machine to this pump system? Also, do I need a separate vent pipe?

Here's the link to the pump system http://www.homedepot.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CatalogSearchResultView?D=940852&Ntt=940852&catalogId=10051&langId=-15&storeId=10051&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntx=mode+matchall&recN=0&N=0&Ntk=P_PartNumber

Thanks,

Marc

Hello, you cannot hook a pump directly to a washing machine drain line. You must let the washing machine drain into a tub large enough to hold all the water, then pump that h2o out of the tub into your septic tank and set the pump on automtic. So you don't burn out the pump. You may have to install a float system in order for the pump to automatically shut off so you don't burn the pump out by dry pumping. I hope this helps.

Marc,
Your link to the pump didn't come through. What pump system would this be ejector or sump? Where's it installed in relationship to the washer? Back to you, Tom
