I would like to know can the united states postal service put SSDI checks in the post office box on weekends. The reason I'm asking I'm waiting on a backpayment check from ssdi and I know if the 3rd falls on Saturday or Sunday you will receive it on Friday. Is it like that with a backpayment check toPlease if anybody knows would you take a minute and let me know. Thanks Betty

When the post office delivers mail, the content isn't relevant. The sender is responsible for getting the check mailed early if they want it to arrive prior to a weekend. I suspect that the back payment check was mailed without regard to the day it would arrive.

What you need to add is that would normally or should.
When a letter is mailed it does not matter what it is, it goes though the same process, and while you may be used to getting the mail on a specific day, it can be a day or two late sometimes because of machine breakdown at postal departments, flat tires on mail trucks, mail employees being sick or just very heavy mail.
Our local post office is open on Saturday and does put mail in boxes on Saturday.
But the actual day you receive government checks can very by a day or two from month to month, just depending on mail service.
