Hello,
I'm having a number of plumbing woes that started with washer backup. I did a hose test on the standing pipe, and diagnosed the problem as a clog... After snaking the line and not encountering any buildup, I decided to purchase and use a hardcore drain cleaner. Shortly after I did, my entire house began to smell like a sewer. Now I'm noticing that my sinks are draining very slowly, and whenever I flush the toilet, water comes out of the standing pipe the washer drains into. I read that vent clogging can cause a slow system drain, so I got up on the icy roof and attempted to snake that, too, without luck. Within a morning my forray into diy plumbing has left my house smelling like a portajohn, and everything backed up. Help?
